“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." ~1 Peter 4:8-9

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. ~1 Peter 4:8-9
I saw a sign recently that said, “Teach like Paul; Fight like David; Build like Noah; Obey like Daniel; Lead like Moses”. But it’s missing the most important one of all! Can you guess?
Love like Jesus.
Jesus was the epitome of love. On the cross: “Father, forgive them…”
His earthly walk was saturated with examples - healing when He was about to drop with exhaustion, securing His mother’s future as He hung broken and bruised on the cross, walking miles out of His way to teach His disciples about the ways of His kingdom, raising Lazarus from the dead.
HIS love, the love of God, covered not just a multitude, but ALL the sins of the world - past, current and future. We can imitate His love to some degree by forgiving, letting love cover a multitude of sins (that does NOT mean to be a doormat for abuse - that entirely different).
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the angels talk amongst themselves and say, “So-and-so loves like <insert your name>”? Goals!
