All Are One

No labels! Can you imagine a world where everyone is accepted and loved unconditionally without any regard to categories, identifications or identities? It seems highly unlikely, if not impossible, doesn’t it?

But there is such a world! Life in Jesus Christ gives us exactly that! The first century world needed to hear this just as much as we do. Paul wrote to the people of Galatia, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” ~Galatians 3:28

Jesus is our identity. We each have our own personalities, talents, and quirks; we are all unique and important - we are not God’s puppets or robots. We are free in Jesus Christ. Paul tells us in Galatians 5:1 “Christ has set us free! This means we are really free. Now hold on to your freedom and don't ever become slaves of the Law again.” The law highlighted sin. Jesus said, “I paid for your sin - you no longer are under its weight. You are free to be loving, forgiving, joyful, bringing peace and reconciliation to a world in chaos. Be a beacon that guides others out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.”

Father, the next time we are tempted to judge another and label them a certain way, let us see Your Son in them. Keep reminding us that no matter what restrictions we face in this life, our soul, mind and spirit is free from the slavery of sin. We are free to shine as we were designed, even in the toughest of times. Free to show compassion, serve, love and forgive. Amen.
