All Sufficiency, In All Things, At All Times

The words "God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8" on a blue background

“God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” ~2 Corinthians 9:8

Look at all the ALLS! All grace. All sufficiency. All things. At all times. And if you read the original Greek, the word ‘every’ is also ‘All’. There are 5 ‘alls’ in this one verse.

In the Bible, numbers play an important part - 40, 3, 12, 7 probably sound very familiar. Each number represents something specific and it helps scholars to interpret the original language. Guess what number 5 stands for? GRACE!!!

The Tabernacle, which was the portable Temple, was all built around the number 5. This structure was a signpost to Jesus - every item, article and piece represented Him in some way, the most important being the Mercy Seat, which represented the cross and what Jesus would do for all of mankind .

I never thought I would like math, but in this case, AHHH! The sums and products of a numbers make it even more significant. So, the number 25, which is 5 x 5 is grace upon grace (John 1:16), which all comes from Jesus Christ! Numerology is fascinating, but it is only a tool to help us know more about Jesus. Hmmmm….look how many letters are in Jesus…

Have a blessed day!
