And God’s Grace Was So Powerfully at Work in Them All

“With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.” ~Acts 4:33

I try to imagine how they felt. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit was new to them. Their days used to be filled with grumpiness, fear and worry. I can easily picture when I feel that way, the times when I am squashing the Holy Spirit, pushing Him away, wanting to handle things on my own.

But when I realize what a mess I am, I repent and feel the peace and joy of the Spirit once again. He never leaves - isn’t that a wondrous thing? Oh, how He loves us. And it’s not just with peace and joy - it’s everything that is good, including His power!

The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive in us! We have access to that same energy! What does that mean? It means that “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." ~Philippians 4:13; “Jesus said to them: The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.” ~Luke 18:27; Jesus said, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Be moved from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible for you.” ~Matthew 17:20

It seems fitting to close with Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians in verses 18-23 of the first chapter. “My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God's people. I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power He used when He raised Christ from death and let Him sit at His right side in heaven. There Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well. God has put all things under the power of Christ, and for the good of the church He has made Him the head of everything. The church is Christ's body and is filled with Christ who completely fills everything.” Amen!

Have a blessed day!
