“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” ~Hebrews 13:20-21
What a beautiful benediction! It’s the gospel in a nutshell, isn’t it? To think that God Almighty is working in us NOW, to equip us for eternity - it’s staggering. It’s all because of Jesus Christ. Without Him, there is nothing.
He told us that He is the Way in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The Greek language has a way of using words that we don’t have in English. In this case, the word ‘the’. Simple little word that we just fly by. But Jesus is saying, “I am the ONLY pathway to glory. I am TRUTH personified, there is no other. And I am LIFE itself.”
Ah, chills! And our verse in Hebrews reveals that He gives us the ability to travel this life infused with truth in a way that pleases God. How blessed we are!
