Be Kind and Compassionate to One Another

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” ~Ephesians 4:32

Valuable advice for anyone and everyone. What would our world look like? Sounds a little like heaven, doesn’t it?

A question was posed…”What would have happened if the prodigal son encountered his critical, fault-finding elder brother before he experienced the embrace, kiss and acceptance of his father?”

It is something to consider, to meditate on, to contemplate. The response that followed was, “How we represent the heart of the Father to others will impact their future life journey.” That’s so true - one comment can fester and rear its toxic head years, decades, later. They become triggers that cause certain reactions. The word, ‘lazy’, lights me up, not in a good way. I need this verse. And I need the previous one: “Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.” ~Ephesians 4:31.

I’m not a shouter of insults, but the internal bitterness definitely gains traction in my mind on occasion. Only the Holy Spirit can turn this around. We can ask God to give us compassion and the ability to forgive a wrong. He will do it! EVERY TIME. Why? Because of Christ. We are in Him. We are forgiven. How dare we hold any grudges?

Have a blessed day!
