Be Strong In The Lord
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." ~ Eph 6:10
Paul has been instructing the believers on how to live a life pleasing to God.
This is the opening sentence of the armor of God paragraph and he is about to compare that preparation with a suit of armor, very familiar to the inhabitants of that area of the world controlled by the Roman empire.
But first, Paul re-enforces that God is bigger, stronger, mightier than any human force and wait.... any demonic force! In one sentence, he uses three such words (recall that the number three means completeness): Strength, might and power. I think we tend to just pass over this sentence, but every word of God counts. The readers would be built up and encouraged before they even started considering the rest of the instructions.
This applies to us, as well! God was, is and always will be the totality of all power - nothing can go against Him and win. No creature, whether on this earth or in the heavenly realm can take you out of His love and care. The battle belongs to the Lord! Make sure you are on the right side! David took this stand in front of Goliath, symbolic of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.
1 Samuel 17:47 "And all these people who are here today may see that the Lord does not give salvation by sword and spear: for the fight is the Lord's, and he will give you up into our hands."
