Bold As A Lion

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion
"The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion" ~Proverbs 28:1

Be bold in your faith. Bold like Jesus. Jesus was called the Lion. He was also the Lamb of God. There could not be more opposite creatures - I love the humor in Rev 5:5-6. An angel tells John, "Look! The Lion of the Tribe of Judah who has conquered!" John turns, expecting to see a ferocious roaring lion and instead, sees a Lamb. But he would have understood the symbolism - that through sacrifice and self-giving, the sin of the world was vanquished.

What does 'being bold' mean for us? Being bold is NOT taking the easy way out - when someone wrongs us, our first reaction is to lash out and get revenge. But being bold is holding our tongue and remaining calm. Wise as a serpent; gentle as a dove.

It also means confidence - God-fidence. Steve McVey wrote, "Don't be afraid. It probably won't happen and, if it does, it won't be the way you think. And you won't be alone. You will get through it. Don't let what you don't know about tomorrow ruin what you know about today. That is the grace walk experience."
Have a blessed day!
