But from this day on I will bless you. - Haggai 2:18-19

"Consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider: Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.” ~Haggai 2:18-19

We don't like to wait for things. Instant gratification is expected. How did we ever survive modem dial-up? If our phones don't immediately give us what we want, we're ready to get a new one. But God's timing has nothing to do with the clock or calendar.

The Old Testament spans many centuries, yet it all points to one thing - Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The prophets passed along God's promises and the people longed for this answer to solve all their problems.

Haggai tells them, "you might not see any results yet, but God will do as He says".

Father, give us patience. We love to see answers to our prayers, but give us the assurance that You answer even when we cannot see. Let us walk by faith, knowing that Your ways are not ours and they are perfect. Amen.
