“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” ~1 Corinthians 10:13

Temptation is a tricky thing. He’s sneaky and deceptive, often barging into your life before you know what’s happening. He sparkles with enticement and glitters with self-justification. He’s a master of disguise and dialect and has a mantle full of Oscars.

But Temptation isn’t able to come up with anything new. The script has been used over and over again since Eve met him face to face. As history marches forward, we see that some can handle a complex and difficult screenplay, while others can only manage a few lines. The director is in charge of that, allowing the correct distribution based on the actor’s ability.

Oh so thankfully, we have God as our director in the play called ‘Life'. He will not allow Temptation to give us something we cannot manage. And He will tutor us when we call 'line’, always watching and aware of our struggles, even answering us before we call.

“I will answer them before they call for help. I will help them before they finish asking!” ~Isaiah 65:24

“And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else.” ~James 1:13

God Almighty, when we are tempted to blame You for the urging to sin, remind of this verse in James - that You do not do this. You want us to win and are there to help us resist Temptation, knowing that he will flee away [James 4:7]. Take away our tendencies to cry, “Why me?” Continue to shape and mold us into Your image. Amen!
