Christ Who Lives in Me
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” ~Galatians 2:20
We has a similar verse about 6 months ago and I thought about my Mom loving to sing Gaither music. I just have to repost those words:
“We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus to life, will also raise us up with Jesus and take us, together with you, into His presence.” ~2 Corinthians 4:14
Every time I read this verse, it takes me back to my childhood, listening to my Mom sing, “Because He Lives” as she cleaned our house. She had a beautiful melodic voice, yet what made it so memorable was her inner joy that radiated in these words. That Jesus-joy is contagious and I still feel that, decades later. Listen to this, if you can, and share that joy.
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he brings;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
