B - Bible Verse in NIV (Matthew 11:28-29) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

L - Listen for God's Voice and pray Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of rest. Help us to come to You with all our burdens and weariness. Teach us to learn from Jesus, to embrace His gentleness and humility. May we savor the peace and rest You offer, finding true refreshment for our souls. In Jesus' name, Amen.

E - Explore the History and meaning Jesus spoke these words during His ministry, inviting people to find true rest in Him. In a culture where religious leaders often placed heavy burdens on people, Jesus offered a different way. He uses the image of a yoke, typically a symbol of burden, but transforms it into a picture of partnership with Him. This passage emphasizes Jesus' desire to give spiritual and emotional rest to those who follow Him.

S - Study the Key Words or Phrases

"Rest for your souls" - Deep, inner peace and refreshment

S - Summarize and Share (Savoring God's Promises theme) To me, this promise from Jesus just like a cool drink of water on a hot summer's day? It's a promise we can savor, letting its sweetness refresh our weary souls.

Life can be exhausting, can't it? Maybe you're carrying heavy burdens right now - worries about health, finances, or relationships. Perhaps you're just tired from the daily grind, feeling worn out and overwhelmed. If that's you, I want you to lean in close and really savor these words from Jesus.

"Come to me," He says. Isn't that beautiful? The God of the universe is inviting us to come to Him. Not when we've got everything figured out, not when we're at our best, but right in the middle of our weariness and burdens. It's like He's patting the seat next to Him, saying, "Come here, my child. Let's talk about what's weighing you down."

And what does He promise when we come? Rest. Oh, how we need that rest! Not just physical rest (though that's important too), but deep, soul-level rest. The kind of rest that brings peace to our anxious thoughts and calm to our troubled hearts.

I love how Jesus tells us to take His yoke and learn from Him. Now, a yoke might sound like another burden, but think of it this way: when we're yoked with Jesus, He's right there beside us, helping us carry our load. And as we walk with Him, we learn from His gentle and humble heart.

This promise is one we can savor every single day. When we wake up feeling overwhelmed, we can whisper, "Jesus, I come to you." When we're in the middle of a stressful day, we can pause and say, "Lord, I need Your rest." When we lie down at night, we can thank Him for carrying our burdens.

So today, let's really take time to savor this promise. Let's imagine Jesus inviting us to come to Him, to nestle into His peace and rest. Let's practice bringing our weariness and burdens to Him, trusting that He'll give us the rest we so desperately need.

Always remember, this promise is for you. Whatever you're carrying, however tired you may be, Jesus is inviting you to come and find rest. That's a promise worth savoring, day after day after day.
