“Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” ~Mark 6:31

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, “Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” ~Mark 6:31

Read that a couple of times. Can you feel the peace that washes over your soul? That’s HIS peace. The calmness and tranquility of Jesus. Just imagine if you were face to face in that place!

But we have an even greater access to that peace. We are IN Him and He is in us! We have the mind of Christ, so we are able to slow down and rest in Him. I cannot recall a time when we are told that Jesus rushed or hurried. Even news of the death of His beloved friend, Lazarus, didn’t push Him.

We should learn from that. When you feel like your life is a series of spinning plates and you’re struggling to keep them from breaking, remember this verse. One step at a time. Task by task, with a determination and purpose.

God doesn’t want us to be stressed. He will give us the time we need to do what He has planned for us.

“Truly my soul finds rest in God” ~Psalm 62:1

“Be still, and know that I am God” ~Psalm 46:10

Jesus tells us, “Leave the chaos and come rest with Me in the unrushed quietness of peace. Even if it is for a brief time, it is worth it. You will find rest and refreshment for your soul.”
