Drink of It, All of You

The most important thing that the Christian church does is to celebrate communion - the Eucharist. It binds every denomination together because it is commemorating the most critical event that ever took place on this earth - the Cross. What Jesus did on Easter morning affects every atom of creation from the very beginning. As I read this verse, something sparked in my mind - Jesus was including all of us in His suffering and His glory! Paul taught in Romans 8:17  "And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together." 1 Peter 4:13 "But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed." Colossians 3:4 "Whenever Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." HE does it all! Talk about riding someone's coattails!

Does this mean we can do what we want? No! There are consequences, but that does not change, limit or reduce the love that God has for His creation. Jesus made sure - the ultimate guarantee - that His work on the Cross was effective for all. John 12:32  "When I have been lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people toward me."
THIS is why we take Communion. "Do this in remembrance of me" - how many times have we heard that? Does it make us weep with gratitude? It should.

Have a blessed day!
