Fill You with Joy

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 15:13

The world needs this. It has never been more pertinent in our lifetime. Paul is writing to the Jews and Gentiles who believe - that they unite in harmony in joyful praise to God. This chapter is a culmination of a letter geared to breaking down that final wall separating the Jews from the Gentiles (a.k.a. Greeks, the nations, any non-Jew). Instead of being at odds with one-another, toe-to-toe, link arms in oneness, oriented to God in Christ Jesus.

God promises an overflow of joy, peace, hope, fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul reminded them in chapter 14 that we can experience the kingdom of God NOW, which is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The peace that IS Jesus. “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both Jews and Gentiles one, and who destroyed the dividing wall of separation” ~Ephesians 2:14

We all need peace in some measure. Jesus is the answer. He offers peace that is out-of-this-world. It is something that we cannot even fathom. It surpasses all understanding and permeates every cell of our body, becomes part of our DNA, guarding our hearts and minds in union with Christ Jesus. ~from Philippians 4:7

Seek Him. He is waiting…arms open wide.
