For the Lord Himself will Come Down from Heaven

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” ~1 Thessalonians 4:16

This image is something that could have been pulled right out of the movies! It’s full of grandeur and majesty and power. It’s has epic proportions! Can’t you imagine it?

It is a purposeful scenario full of hope - the hope that is a sure thing, THE hope that we are waiting for with ever-increasing anticipation and earnest expectation!

How many don’t have this hope? How many believe that when we die, everything is done? Or expect to come back in another form and do it all over again, over and over. Ugh. ‘Father, use us to reveal Your truth. Open ears and eyes to the reality that IS.’

This passage (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17) covers all the scenarios and the end result is that we will be together with Him.

“Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). “Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust [Adam], we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven {Jesus Christ]” (1 Corinthians 15:49). “Your real life is Christ and when He appears, then you too will appear with Him and share His glory!” (Colossians 3:4). “And God will be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28b)

“He [Jesus] who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Yes, come, Lord Jesus! ~Revelation 22:20
