Get up and go…then you will be told what to do
“Get up and go…then you will be told what to do”. ~Acts 9:6
Picture a baby struggling to get to a toy. As a parent, you desperately want to clear the floor to make it easy for them, but you resist because you know they are learning how to navigate and need those obstacles blocking their path in order to master crawling. You are right there, hovering, ready to intervene if they need help, but letting them figure out how to reach their goal.
Let's go back to the Old Testament to Moses and the exodus-ing Israelites. They are on the edge of the Red Sea, the Egyptians hot on their tail. The Israelites start crying to Moses and he tells them "Stay calm! The LORD will fight for you, and you won't have to do a thing." But listen to what God says to Moses (I love this) -
"Why do you keep shrieking out to me for help? Tell the Israelites to move forward. Then hold your staff over the sea. The water will open up and make a road where they can walk through on dry ground."
God solved the problem, but Moses had to act as well. Notice the order of the instructions:

Tell them to move

Raise your staff
-
I will split the waters
Sometimes God has you reveal your faith before He steps in. But the best thing about this is that HE gives you the faith. HE gives you the motivation to step out of the boat and then HE makes thing happen!
