"God had power to do what He had promised.” ~Romans 4:20-21

“Yet he [Abraham] did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.” ~Romans 4:20-21

God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. There was a problem. Abraham was 100 years old, his wife Sarah not far behind. How could they have children? But Abraham believed it. “God, You said it, so I know it will happen.”

The Scripture continues with the following: “But these words were not written only for Abraham. They were written for us who are to be accepted as righteous, who believe in Him who raised our Lord Jesus to life.”

We have just celebrated this blessed event, an annual reminder of what we should joyfully acknowledge every moment! Creation does - the day renews every morning, seeds sprout, wounds heal, new life everywhere we look. Even soul-wrenching grief gets minutes of respite. Why do we need a church calendar and the Cadbury bunny to keep us focused?

Thankfully, the faithfulness of Jesus Christ fills in the gap. “When we have no faith, He remains full of faith” [2 Timothy 2:13]. God ALWAYS does everything He promises. Write, text, paint, email those words. Root them deep in your mind and soul.

“I will never leave you” Hebrews 13:5a
