God, You are Bigger

"God has your back"; "God is in your corner"; "God is on your side"....we know this with our head, but do we REALLY know it with our heart?

I want to be like Elisha in 2 Kings 6. He was completely surrounded by an enemy army sent specifically for his capture (does that sound familiar to events in the news this past week?). His servant was understandably terrified, but Elisha said, "Don't be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the army that fights for them." 

Then Elisha prayed and said, "LORD, I ask you, open my servant's eyes so that he can see." The LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and the servant saw the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire. They were all around Elisha. 

What an awesome picture that draws! Elisha could rest easy knowing that no matter what the odds, God was bigger and stronger than anything man could do to him.

This reminds me of a song by Chris Tomlin called "Our God". I always change the words to say, "greatEST, strongEST, highEST (and get strange looks haha!)

Awesome in power

Father, make our faith strong so that we see your angel army surrounding us.
Our strength is in Your name and Your victory is ours. Amen!
