Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus
Isn't that a beautiful ending to a letter or a card? A blessing, not a command. The verse continues with: "To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen."
Our Lord gets praised when His children mature as Christians. See how God uses language that we are familiar with to reveal Himself?
Parents get congratulated when their children graduate or get married. I used to think that it meant that their responsibility was over. That was before I knew better - LOL! I came to realize that in many cases, it takes a family to raise a child to adulthood. A family could be a single parent, grandmothers, aunts, moms, dads, siblings or mother & father, etc. They are as much a part of the outcome as the child itself.
That means we are never alone. Family things are always complicated and never easy, but usually family sticks together. How much MORE will our heavenly Father be involved in our life? He promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. He will always be there, a proud parent, sometimes hurting with us or for us, sometimes grieving at our actions, but never giving up, anxiously waiting to shower grace on us and teaching us, each according to the capacity we have to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Never was there a more attentive parent.
Psalm 121
I look to the mountains; where will my help come from?
My help will come from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
He will not let you fall; your protector is always awake.
The protector of Israel never dozes or sleeps.
The LORD will guard you; he is by your side to protect you.
The sun will not hurt you during the day, nor the moon during the night.
The LORD will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe.
He will protect you as you come and go now and forever.
Have a blessed day!
