He Will Wipe Every Tear from Their Eyes
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ~Revelation 21:4
"Tears are prayers, too. They travel to God when we can't speak." Psalm 56:8
I picture sitting on His lap, my head against his chest as He wipes my tears with His fingertips. As a mom and a grandma, I can say that there is great joy in comforting a teary young one. How much greater joy does our Lord have when we need that attention?
But someday. Some glorious day, we won’t need that comforting. All things that bring sad tears to our eyes will be eradicated. Annihilated. Done away with. Can you imagine it? I can’t. There is no space in my brain that can fathom a continuous perfect contentment and that bubbling up of the excitement of pure happiness.
Some think that we will float around on puffy clouds with angel wings playing harps. For eternity. Yuck. How did this image come to be? And WHY? The God who gives us perfect moments every once in a while (you know what I mean. It’s different for every person) - why would He not expand that when we are with Him? He’s just giving us a taste now. To build anticipation and expectation!
“With God's power working in us, He can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever. Amen.” ~Ephesians 3:20-21
Have a blessed day!
