Heed the Word Wisely
"He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he." ~Proverbs 16:20
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world so that He might condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. I and the Father are one.” After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, Fear not, I am the first and the last." “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
