“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” ~Revelation 3:20

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” ~Revelation 3:20

The words that stick out (to me, anyway) is “knock” and “door”. It took me to another verse in Matthew:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." ~Matthew 7:7-8

Jesus is speaking both of these verses and check it out! In one verse, HE is doing the knocking and in the other, WE are told to knock! Any relationship is a two-way street and it is no different with Jesus.

But even better, HE is the door and and always there for us. Even when we turn our backs on Him, He doesn’t leave. He rejects our rejection! “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”~John 10:9

In the Bible, the door represents spiritual invitation and eating, salvation. Pasture is a picture of safety and protection. Jesus provides everything that is needed - the Great Shepherd. The giver of life. Life, itself, in fact. “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” ~John 14:6 “All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”~John 1:3-4 “I am the bread of life.”~John 6:48

My life is in You, Lord
My strength is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
In You, it's in You
In You, it's in You
In You, it's in You
I will praise You with all of my life
I will praise You with all of my strength
With all of my life, with all of my strength
All my hope is in You
