"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." ~John 16:33

Today, we remember this date in 2001. Did anyone that day recall these words from John 16? Would it have comforted them or given them hope? Jesus brought peace. It’s more than the opposite of war. The peace of Jesus is the reconciliation of all that is wrong. “Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to Himself. God made peace through His Son's blood on the cross and so brought back to Himself all things, both on earth and in heaven.” ~Colossians 1:20

Terrorists, bombs and fires cannot separate us from the love the God. He is there during the best of times and through the worst. He never leaves! Occasionally, it may seem that He is very absent, but look what David wrote in Psalm 139:7-10

“Where could I go to escape from You? Where could I get away from Your presence? If I went up to heaven, You would be there; if I lay down in the world of the dead, You would be there. If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west, You would be there to lead me, You would be there to help me.”

Jesus Christ makes these words truth. Our faith makes them authentic. Hang onto them, cling to them when you are going through a storm in your life. Words are power. Enemies flee, even at the sound of His Name.

“So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ~Philippians 2:10-11
