It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus

“It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” ~1 Corinthians 1:30

Paul is comparing the wisdom of God with the “wisdom” of the world. It is as far apart as the East is from the West. Think about it - media tells us that cruises and vacations to exotic places brings happiness. Making as much money as quickly as possible and saving it brings peace of mind. I saw a commercial yesterday that made me spit out my coffee. “Pure joy can be found in a certain non-dairy creamer”. Pure joy?? Oh, do we have it wrong!

True joy, peace, happiness is found in Jesus Christ. He is the source, author and originator of all that is good. This verse tells us that He is Wisdom for us - remember, we just have to ask for it and it is given, no stipulations! (James 1:5). Because of Jesus, we are righteous, we are holy and we are redeemed!!! Those are ‘religious’ words, but they just mean that God sees no fault in us. We are set apart from anything ugly and bad; Jesus paid the compensation for all the sin of the world - for you and for me. He did it all!

We’re approaching Easter and that is why we celebrate - because of Jesus. The Cross is THE pivotal moment in history. The world may see it as foolishness - they’d rather celebrate a bunny in pants???

Some day, some glorious day, all will know. “Every knee will bow and every tongue confess, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, that Jesus Christ is Lord.” ~Philippians 2:10-11

Until then, ask for wisdom, forgive, love and help others. Get to know Jesus. You won’t be disappointed.
