"Keep your foot from evil.” ~Proverbs 4:25-27

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
Do not turn to the right or the left: keep your foot from evil.” ~Proverbs 4:25-27

“Mind you Ps and Qs”. My 6th grade teacher would always say this to the class and no one knew what she meant. I still have no idea - LOL. I think we instinctively knew it meant behave ourselves and this Proverb is great advice for anyone, regardless of where your spiritual self may be.

Distraction-from-your-goal is the target here and our lives have never been more tempted by distraction than they are today. Has anyone gone down the social media rabbit hole? One dear child told me that they spent 13 hours on TikTok one day. THIRTEEN HOURS??

“So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely.” ~Psalm 90:12

“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” ~Colossians 4:5

“Take care then how you are living, not as unwise, but as wise, making good use of the time, because the days are evil.” ~Ephesians 5:15-16

Father, let us redeem the time You have given us, knowing that You give us what we need to accomplish Your will. That includes time to relax, but give us the wisdom to use those moments wisely. Nudge us to mind our Ps and Qs :) and glorify You with all the we think and do. Amen.

P.S. No one knows the origin of that saying - there are guesses but nothing solid.
