Calendars, Planners, To-Do Lists…if you’re like me, you have one in practically every room. Now that the digital world has staked its claim, syncing the calendars is automatic and I no longer worry about transposing errors (we were late to a wedding once because I had written the wrong time on the kitchen calendar. That was not a happy day).

We HAVE to make schedules or life would be in chaos. But there are ways to plan. Asking God for guidance starts us off on the right foot.

“Teach us to keep account of our days so we may develop inner wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

When faced with a choice, we can ask for direction. A few years ago I was trying to decide whether to make an appointment for a preventative screening. I asked God if I should and my mind wouldn’t let it go so I dialed the number to schedule. Thankfully I listened to Him because there were things that needed attention.

In a big-picture view, God has His own plan for us. He wills that none would perish. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His word, as He seems to some, but He is waiting in mercy for you, not desiring the destruction of any, but that all may be turned from their evil ways.” ~2 Peter 3:9

“I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: My plan will take place, and I will do all My will.” ~Isaiah 46:10

That’s comforting, is it not? God is good. God is love. All that He wants will happen. Win Win!
