Merry Christmas

Image of a bundle in a manager with the words "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace."
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Just pause and say those words aloud. Feel peace wash over you. HIS peace. Ah, they truly are extraordinary.

The ancient languages did not use commas and translators have added them to help modern readers understand the text. I took out the commas and have found that it makes this passage even more remarkable.

His name shall be called Wonderful
His name shall be called Counselor
His name shall be called Mighty
His name shall be called God
His name shall be called Everlasting
His name shall be called Father
His name shall be called Prince of Peace

Jdg 13:18 The angel of the LORD answered him, "Why are you asking this about my name? It's 'Wonderful.'"

And we know that Jesus is our Advocate (1 John 2:1) - the Greek word is 'parakletos' and can be translated as Counselor.

He surely is Mighty! Colossians 1:16 tells us: "For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him."

Philippians 2:5-6 “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.”

Isaiah 40:28 "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable."

John 10:30 "I and the Father are one.”

2 Thes 3:16 "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace continually in every way. The Lord be with you all."

This is OUR Jesus! That teeny babe in the manger came for us! It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done - you can be the worst human in the world and He still loves you and died for YOU so that you will live!
Have a blessed day!
