My Eyes Always On the Lord

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” ~Psalm 16:8

Memorize this! Write it on your mirror. Post-it-note to your steering wheel. We need this reminder every day. There are so many things to shake our world - especially during this time of year. Tragedies and deaths hit closer to home - there seems to be an expanded sense for all the feelings.

Perhaps it is because we are focusing on the birth of our Lord. Does the enemy ramp up the attacks? My family saw ‘The Miracle of Christmas’ by the Sight and Sound Theater last night - as we watched the birth of baby Jesus, two angels fought above the roof of the stable. When the Arch Angel Michael defeated Lucifer, the crowd cheered.

Does this happen in our lives? Do our guardian angels fight demons in the invisible realm? It’s fascinating to contemplate. We DO know that God is our champion and companion! There ain’t nothing better than THAT! If you are going through a tough situation, let Him comfort you. Allow His peace to flood your soul. Talk to Him. Read His word - especially the Psalms. Listen to music that glorifies His name. Sing. Paint. Create. Volunteer. Help those in need. All these things can help. Let your heart prepare Him room.

Let Heaven and Nature Sing!
