B - Bible Verse: Psalm 62:5 (NIV) - "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him."

L - Listen for God's Word and pray: Dear Lord, as we come before you today, help us to find true rest in you. We know that our hope can only come from you, so please calm our anxious hearts and help us to trust in your goodness and faithfulness. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

E - Explore the History and Meaning: Psalm 62 is another psalm that is attributed to King David. It is a psalm of trust and confidence in God, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. David begins by declaring his confidence in God as his rock and salvation, and then goes on to encourage the people of God to trust in Him as well.

In verse 5, David speaks directly to his own soul, urging it to find rest in God alone. This is a powerful reminder that true rest and hope can only be found in God. No matter what challenges we may be facing, we can trust that God is with us and that He will never leave us or forsake us.

S - Study and savor the Key Words or Phrases:
"Rest" means to be at peace, to be calm and still, to find relief from the busyness and stresses of life.
"Hope" means to have confident expectation, to trust that something good is coming in the future.
In this verse, David is reminding us that we can find true rest and hope in God alone.

S - Summarize and Share:
When we face difficult times or feel overwhelmed, it's easy to turn to things like money, status, or relationships to help us feel secure. However, in Psalm 62:5, we are reminded that our true source of security and hope comes from God alone.

David, the author of this Psalm, was no stranger to difficult times. He faced many challenges and even persecution throughout his life, yet he learned to rely on God's strength and trust in His promises. In this verse, David encourages us to follow his example and find our rest and refuge in God.

When we put our trust in God, we can find peace in the midst of chaos, and hope in the face of uncertainty. We don't have to rely on our own strength or understanding, because we can trust that God is in control and has a plan for our lives.

So, if you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed today, remember that you can trust in God. Take a moment to pause, pray, and give your worries to Him. Trust that He will provide for you, protect you, and guide you through whatever challenges you may face.

And as you go about your day, remember to keep your focus on Him. Seek Him in all that you do, and trust that He will be faithful to lead you in the right direction.

Remember, you are loved and cherished by God, and He is always with you, no matter what. Trust in Him, and you will find true peace and security.
