No Rock Like Our God

"There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God." ~1 Samuel 2:2

When I read this verse, even though it was part of Hannah's prayer as she dedicated her young son, Samuel, to the Lord, my mind would not stop singing the song, "Build My House" by Michael W Smith. The words, "There is none besides You" keep resonating over and over. No matter what is going on in the world and in our busy lives, Jesus is above all of that chaos - there is peace with Him.

Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, we live for You

Jesus the Name above every other name
Jesus the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe

Holy there is no One like You
There is none besides You
Open up my eyes in wonder
Show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken
