Nothing Can Separate
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~Romans 8:38-39
Nothing....No Thing....can separate us from God. Not even Satan. That means even our own decisions. This is HUGE!!!! Christ did it all - He was the living representative of God's love. The noun, verb and adjective. "So then, through the transgression of one, condemnation came to all men; likewise, through the righteousness of one came righteousness of life to all men. For just as through the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man, many will be set right forever." ~Romans 5:18-19 Verse 18 clarifies the "many" of verse 19. Many = All.
We can't even wrap our minds around this. Paul's excitement was evident - he almost rambles on and on as he lists what cannot separate us from the love of God. Every time I hear the song, "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury, I think of this verse.
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah
When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
The only proper response can be, "Thank you, Jesus"
