“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” ~Ephesians 3:20

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” ~Ephesians 3:20

Almost exactly two years ago this verse was posted. It’s one of those that catches my eye because my dear friend has designed her whole business around those life-altering words, “immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine”.

This verse from Ephesians is part of a larger section of praise that should hang together. To fill in the picture a bit, Paul has just revealed a truth that has been hidden - that Gentiles (non-Jews) are co-heirs with the Jews as part of the body of Christ. He is in awe, evident in his closing words:

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and upon earth takes its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power by His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; being rooted and founded in love, that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height--and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly more than all the things which we ask or think, according to the power which is working in us, to Him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ~Eph 3:14-21

I feel like I should remove my shoes like Moses did before the burning bush, for I am standing on holy ground. This is what the fullness of God is like! We can’t even begin to picture what He has in store for us. It is ALWAYS bigger, better, greater, stronger, all the superlatives, than we expect. This authentic living begins when we believe and never ever ends.
