Rejoice in the Lord!
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior” ~Habakkuk 3:18
Habakkuk…who is that? He’s a little-known prophet with a book of three chapters, snuggled in between Nahum and Zephaniah. He’s rather mysterious, giving no personal information. However, his book is very relevent to our current situation as a declining nation.
His message to peoples of all time is that no matter how powerful the nations are that threaten our safety, security and peace, our God is stronger than all of them put together. We are to celebrate that assurance with a confidence that is rooted in joy. That inner peace gives us the ability to persevere through anything.
Habakkuk’s ‘God my Savior’ is referring to Jesus, born in a manger in Bethlehem 600+ years later! God gifted these prophets with visions that excluded time, that brought the future into the present to give hope and joy to all! Joy to the World, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her king. Let every heart prepare Him room and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven, and heaven, and nature sing!
Have a blessed day!
