Start Moving
If you're like me, you like to have a detailed itinerary for certain events in your life. It is hard for me to "fly blind". Stepping out of the boat onto a stormy sea is not my cuppa tea. But that is if I rely on myself, pushing God to the background. Not intentionally, never on purpose, but our human nature is always fighting to stay on top.
When my oldest was little wee, she would always say "I do it mySELF!" I often think of that when I realize that I'm doing the same thing to God. My response as a parent was to smile indulgently, knowing she would need my help eventually. Why would God throw up His hands (metaphorically) in disgust and walk away? He stays close, knowing that I will finally give up control and ask Him to take the wheel.
Doesn't it seem easier to "trust God" in the big things? Like you know you need His guidance to start a new job, to move, to get married, etc. But what about the little things? They are as important to Him as the giant steps. If we listen for His voice, He will direct us by opening doors and closing others, even in our boring daily tasks.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths" Proverbs 3:4-6
Have a blessed day!
