Teach the Children to Follow Christ

As of March 2021, a staggering 6% of US children are homeschooled. That percentage has almost doubled since 2016. (This is not including the pandemic-learn-from-home numbers.) And over 8% of US students go to private schools.

There are many factors why parents choose to avoid the public school system, but I'd be willing to bet that this is one of the main reasons: "If we don't teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to." That is a frightening, sobering, truthful statement. Even if a public-school teacher is a Christian, they have to follow their district's curriculum. I don't envy them one bit.

This verse was always hovering in my mind when my children were young. I took great hope from it, and I am seeing the fruit now.

Proverbs 22:6  "Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Hold onto this promise - even when it seems impossible, don't give up! Doing the impossible is the Lord's specialty!

Matthew 19:26  "But Jesus, looking on them, said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
