The Beauty of Becoming: Using the BLESS Method

This month, we’re leaning into something that can feel both beautiful and uncomfortable at the same time…
the process of becoming.
Change is rarely easy, is it?
We want the transformation. The breakthrough. The growth. The healed version of ourselves. But we don’t always love the process of getting there. The in-between can feel messy and uncertain. Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening at all—or even like we’re moving backward.
But what if God is doing some of His deepest work in the hidden places?
Just like a caterpillar doesn’t rush the chrysalis, and a butterfly doesn’t force its wings open too soon, we’re learning this month that there is beauty in becoming. Beauty in the slow, steady work God is doing within us. Beauty in the transformation we cannot always see yet.
This month, we’ll be spending time in Scripture together using the BLESS Method, slowing down long enough to notice the ways God is shaping us, renewing us, and gently transforming us from the inside out.
You are not stuck.
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten in the process.
You are becoming.
And God is faithful in every step of it.
What is the BLESS Method?
The BLESS Method is a simple and meaningful way to spend deeper time in God’s Word:
B — Bible Verse
Start with a focused Scripture passage.
L — Listen & Pray
Pause, pray, and ask God to guide your understanding.
E — Explore the Meaning
Look deeper into the context, history, and meaning of the verse.
S — Study & Savor
Reflect on key words, truths, and what stands out to your heart.
S — Summarize & Share
Write what God is teaching you and how it applies to your life.
The BLESS Method isn’t about perfection or checking off a box. It’s about slowing down, drawing near to God, and allowing His Word to transform us little by little—one quiet moment at a time.

How I’m Using Draw Near Daily
This month, I’m pairing these Scriptures with both Draw Near Daily and Dig Deeper Daily as I walk through each verse using the BLESS Method.
Having a simple daily Scripture focus helps quiet the overwhelm and gives me a gentle place to begin each day with God. Instead of rushing through Scripture, I’m learning to slow down, listen closely, and embrace the process of transformation God is working within me.
I’ll be sharing my weekly BLESS Method journal entries throughout the month—along with reflections, Bible Side Notes, and quiet moments from my own study time—in hopes that it encourages you in your own journey of becoming.

My prayer is that this becomes more than just a reading plan.

Week 1: Days 1–4
Scriptures:
Day 1 — 2 Corinthians 3:18
Day 2 — Philippians 1:6
Day 3 — Romans 12:2
Day 4 — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Reflections:
As I began this month’s theme, The Beauty of Becoming, I kept coming back to one simple truth: transformation is often much slower—and much holier—than we expect it to be.
We live in a world that wants instant results. Instant change. Instant growth. But God often works differently. He transforms us little by little, layer by layer, gently shaping us over time into the image of Christ.
These first few scriptures reminded me that becoming isn’t about striving harder to become someone new on my own. It’s about surrendering to the work God is already doing within me. He is faithful to continue what He started. He renews our minds. He makes us new creations. And even when the process feels slow, He is still working.
There’s something deeply comforting about realizing I don’t have to force transformation. I simply need to stay close to the One who transforms me.
