The Depth of the Riches of the Wisdom and Knowledge of God!

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!” ~Romans 11:33

Paul is wound up here! He is excited and the praises of God just pour forth - you get the feeling that he can’t speak fast enough. It’s no wonder - he just revealed the great mystery of God, hidden for thousands of years.

Jesus did not just come to save the Jewish people. He came to save the world. Oh, how this must have shocked his listeners. There were hints, many many glimpses of this glorious mystery. Jesus told His followers, “When I am lifted up [on the cross], I will draw all to Myself” in John 12:32 and in 10:16, “I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to My voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”

The last verse of this chapter in Romans says, “Everything comes from the Lord. All things were made because of Him and will return to Him. Praise the Lord forever! Amen. No wonder Paul can’t contain himself!

Tomorrow, we recognize what’s known as ‘The Last Supper'; afterwards, Jesus talks with His Father, “Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, just as You have given Him authority over all flesh, so that He will give eternal life to all You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” ~John 17:1-3

This great mystery is revealed over and over and we just seem to miss it. We put God into a box and assume He thinks and acts a certain way, like humankind.

Father, open our eyes to see Your mystery. We thank you for Your perfect plan, even though we don’t always understand Your ways. “How great are Your riches! How deep is Your wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain Your decisions? Who can understand Your ways?”

Have a blessed day!
