The Glory That Will Be Revealed

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” ~Romans 8:18

This verse overflows with hope! All Romans 8 is that like - if you ever need your spirits lifted, read that chapter. Paul was a master-of-words - he could take ideas and paint them so poetically that you can FEEL his analogies. In this section, he describes us as being one with creation, a world groaning with the weight of a tortured planet, anticipating liberty and freedom and release.

Our daily lives can be full of suffering, but Paul tells us that they are polar opposites of the good things to come - they can’t even be compared. Like measuring a drop of water against the ocean. Or a single grain of sand against the entire beach. “For our present trouble, which is only for a short time, is working out for us a much greater weight of glory.” ~2 Corinthians 4:17  Undeserved suffering leads to great reward!

God makes us co-heirs with Jesus. Read that again. CO-HEIRS with Jesus Christ. His glory is our glory. How can that be? We don't deserve it. We are not worthy of it. But God has made it so! Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we are assured of sharing His glory.

1 John 3:2  “My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He really is.”
