The Light Shines in Darkness

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." ~ John 1:1-5 

The Word Became Flesh - this is all about Jesus! I just love these verses. In the original manuscripts, it actually says, "God was the Word". This God-made-flesh shines light into every man. And check this out - "darkness has not over come it". That means there is a glimmer is every single person, no matter how bad they are. Jesus wins! Jesus is the light of the world and His light overcomes. His light brings life and victory over the darkness!

When we are in darkness, light shines the brightest. These last two years have been mighty dark, but the Word continues to shed its flame - the darkness canNOT swallow it. It is the lamp that lights our path, which directs our journey through the death shadowed valley, the pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night, the burning bush that will not be extinguished. The light is Jesus. Selah.
