“The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.” ~Job 42:12a

“The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.” ~Job 42:12a

At the beginning of the book of Job, he was portrayed as a successful wealthy man, known as the richest man in Mesopotamia. After a period of prolonged suffering, God restored his wealth in double, giving Job twice as much as he had before.

Even though Satan threw his whole bag of tricks at him, Job never lost his faith. Yes, he had bouts of bitterness and ‘why me' pity parties, but he knew that God was there - that no matter what happened to him, even though he did not have scripture to read, or the Holy Spirit to comfort him. He had faith (18 centuries before!) that Messiah would come.

"I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end, He will stand on the earth" Job 19:25

Job believed that Jesus would come to redeem creation.  He knew that God would indeed stand on the earth.  Other translations say, "and He will defend me".

THAT hope is what sustained him.  That same hope can be our life preserver when we're drowning - Jesus Christ is our hope and nothing can steal that from our soul, no matter what happens to us physically, financially or mentally. Our suffering is a drop on the bucket of eternity; blessings will be multiplied exponentially!

“For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.” ~2 Corinthians 4:17
