“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” ~Lamentations 3:25-26

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” ~Lamentations 3:25-26

And the verse before:

“I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him” ~Lamentations 3:24

It’s hard to wait. Hard Hard Hard. They say that patience is a virtue. I feel very judged by that phrase. Like it’s telling me that I fail in being what I should be. There are so many sayings, “Good things come to those who wait” “It’s worth the wait” blah blah blah.

But, the Bible is full waiting stories…Abraham waited 25 years for his promised son, the line of Messiah. Joseph waited in prison for 10-12 years before he was released, to eventually become 2nd only to Pharaoh. Moses, Hannah, Job, Daniel, Ruth, Esther…the list goes on and on. The longest wait has been for Jesus. The world waited…and waited….and waited, from Adam and Eve until a group of low-class shepherds were visited by the heavenly host in the middle of the night in Bethlehem. The Savior has come! The promised Messiah! The wait is over!!!! The best news ever heard!

So all those sayings are TRUE! Jesus WAS worth the wait. Annnnnd, we’re waiting again. But, we know that God keeps His promises. Jesus IS coming again, to set the world right. In the meantime, we are to be HIM, on earth, spreading His light to the world. Not judging, not hating, but LOVING, FORGIVING, SERVING.
