The Lord Rises Upon You
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” ~Isaiah 60:1-2
If you read this chapter - there are only 22 verses - you will see a picture emerging. In each verse there are glimpses into the life of Jesus when He dwelt amongst us. I’ve never seen this before - it is astounding.
From the night of His birth - darkness, then glory! Nations gather round Him. Camels with kings, gold and frankincense. Good News of great joy accompany flocks as people eagerly come.
Thru His ministry where He welcomed everyone, sinner or saint, never turning anyone away - His door always open.
To the cross made from the glory of Lebanon, forsaken and despised, but wait…those that really see, bow down and worship at His beautiful feet pierced for us. It is there where His mission was accomplished. He is Lord, Savior, Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
And it continues to embrace the future - the ‘not yet’. Jesus is the Everlasting Light, and in Him there is no darkness. Mourning and grief will be wiped away, all made right. The least has become the greatest. All because of Jesus. His faithfulness has secured our destiny and His glory will be all and in all.
Oh Come Let Us Adore Him!
