The Mountains and Hills

Art of mountains over a forest with the words "for you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12"
Apocalypse! Zombies and walking dead. End of the world, Nuclear War, barren landscapes, wasteland and famine. Always a smoky, grey haze. Sounds about right. Yes?

No! The word apocalypse comes from the Greek word, apokalupto, which means a revealing, or unveiling. A looking behind the curtain to see what is hidden. Guess what the greatest apocalypse of all time is? Not the modern-day definition that brings to mind catastrophe, but the original meaning. The greatest reveal in the history of mankind. CHRISTMAS!

The first Christmas was the birth of Jesus. Jesus was God coming to the earth He made. He gave up the glory and splendor of heaven to be born as a human child. He was born so that He could impact the world He lived in. He turned that world upside down by healing the sick, showing the religious people that love mattered, not rules. He showed that women were as important as men, that criminals deserved a second chance, that prostitutes were not defined by their occupation, and that the kingdom of God had come. He came to set the world right.

And then… that world put him to death. (That's the Easter story) But the story wasn’t over. During that death, Jesus took everything that was wrong with this world upon Himself. When something is broken, someone has to pay to fix it. When a crime is committed, a penalty must be paid. Jesus did that for the world and everything in it. He paid the price to fix it. He suffered the penalty so everyone would be exonerated.

But the world is a mess. It’s getting worse. It’s evil and bad.

Yes, but not forever. NOT FOREVER!

God has a plan. It was revealed on the first Christmas in the form of a baby lying in a manger. He came to save the world. Get to know Him. You will not be disappointed. God loves you enough that He died for you. Make Christmas 2022 the year that overshadows all the chaos and confusion. That is the Christmas Magic!
Have a blessed day!
