The Word Became Flesh

"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son who came from the Father full of grace and truth." ~ John 1:14

THIS is one of the things that differentiates Christianity from all other religions - God coming to live with humanity. This is also why the Tower of Babel was so offensive to God - not only did the people ignore His command to spread out over the earth, but they built a tower in the attempt to reach Him. [Every time I heard that story in church, I was confused by God's response - why wouldn't God want people to make a way to come to Him?]

Well, as humanity continually struggles with following the practices of the world - this was no exception. The idolatrous nations built "high places" in worship of their gods and God's people decided to copy that practice. God nipped this in the bud by mixing up their language so the tower-building project fell apart.

The Living God had a plan to come and dwell with His people (which included everyone, whether they knew it or not). Even though this plan wouldn't take effect for over 4000 years, it was already set in stone. In the rock of Christ.
HE was coming to live in the universe that He created. John the apostle was over the moon about seeing Jesus Christ in all His glory, which is love that exceeds all expectations. God's love. His all-forgiving, all-inclusive, all-encompassing love that has no limits. The love that remains forever!
Have a blessed day!
