“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone and the new is here!” ~2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone and the new is here!” ~2 Corinthians 5:17
My Dad LOVED trains - his platform rivaled the setups people pay money to view. With news of the world’s largest operating steam engine, the Big Boy 4014, traveling through the US (right past our hometown), I think of him even more than I usually do.
And when I saw this verse, tears formed unbidden in my eyes. My dad had been legally blind since birth and now he can see! I keep thinking of how wondrous it must be to see clearly AND in color. He is free at last! We sang this song at his funeral service, which really was a celebration of his life. Even though this verse applies to the moment when our faith is ignited and we recognize what Jesus has done for us, it is doubled, tripled, quadrupled when we fold our earthly tent.
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last
He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
I am chosen
Not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me
Not against me
I am who You say I am
