Transformed Into His Image
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” ~2 Corinthians 3:18
The Mirror Bible, a paraphrase from the Greek by Francois du Toit, translated this verse: “The days of window-shopping are over! In Him, every face is unveiled. In gazing in wonder at the blueprint of God displayed in human form, we suddenly realize that we are looking into a mirror, where every feature of His image articulated in Christ is reflected within us! The Spirit of the Lord engineers this radical transformation; we are led from an inferior mind-set to the revealed endorsement of our authentic identity.”
This veil is referring way back to the time of Moses when he would meet with God. When Moses would return to the people, his face actually glowed with the glory of God. It terrifies the them, so he wore a veil over his face. As time went on, the glory started to fade, representing the coming of Jesus Christ and the ending of the law. Jesus Christ came with grace and truth, pure love pushing back the darkness, a new covenant that was initiated and fulfilled by Himself. We are the reflection of this glory! Impossible! I see my mirror. But yes, the Spirit of God makes it happen! The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ guarenteed this transformation.
And look at this verse! Jesus is talking to God the Father, here:
John 17:22 The glory that You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one even as We are one.
Are we, as the church, one? Do we reflect His glory?
Have a blessed day!
