By now, ya’ll probably know this is my favorite passage. It is my guide to living life. As long as I don’t mess it up by trying to grap the wheel (when I picture that, it is much easier to stay ‘hands off’).
Imagine being caught in a rainstorm without an umbrella. Even if you love the rain, it could get pretty miserable. Or on a cross-country trip without a map. Or in a foreign country without a language guide. Or sitting down to take a test after missing every class.
The list could go on and on. But just think - life is like that without faith. We would be lost, confused, scared, full of fear and anger. Like much of the world right now. We all go through tough times, some worse than others, but God is ALWAYS there, holding our hand.
When we access our faith, something happens inside us. The "peace that passes all understanding" floods our souls. Hope pours into our hearts. Our chests swell and we can conquer anything! That 'moment' may pass in a literal moment, but the remembrance can fuel us to get through anything.
Think of the lion's den, the fiery furnace, the red sea...it was faith in God that gave them victory in their own situation. It works the same way for us. Ask God for strength, peace and wisdom. I often beg Him to trade my anxiety for His peace - He ALWAYS answers - the faithfulness of God is unwavering!
