Unfailing Love and Full Redemption

“Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with His is full redemption.” `Psalm 130:7

You’re probably weary of me saying “everything points to Christ” - but look at this verse! It is chock full of Jesus and I wonder if the New Testament writers thought of this while writing their books.

John wrote in 1 John 4:8, “God is love”. That means all the love we have is God’s love. We can’t drum up our own - it is all from Him. Even the love we love God with is God’s love! Paul tells us in Romans 5:5 that God’s Spirit pours that love into our hearts - every nook and cranny filled, like water being poured into a glass packed with marbles. Don’t forget that popular wedding scripture from 1 Corinthians 13 - the definition of what true love is: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;….” The passage ends with “now these three remain—faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.” The Psalmist added ‘unfailing’ - that’s a 100% guarantee!

But then comes the best part of all - “with Him is full redemption”. Not partial redemption, not redemption that can be lost or taken away. FULL. COMPLETE. 100%. We were created IN HIM (John 1:3-4) BY HIM (Colossians 1:16). His death and resurrection included us! (Romans 6:8; Colossians 2:12; 3:1). No matter what happens on this earth ball, we have FOREVER with Him. No pain, no tears, and definitely no floating on clouds playing harps! It will be a life of joy and passion and healing and learning and praising and peace and LOVE in the radiance from the face of God.

Oh how marvelous is our God! How Great Thou Art! What Amazing Grace!
