Use me, God. Use me for Your purpose

"Use me, God" - I think there is a longing within each one of us to have a purpose - to make a difference. We were in God's heart long before the universe was created - He already knew who we would become and created those worlds for us to walk in. Ephesians 2:10  "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared that we should walk in them."

The Greek word for workmanship can also be translated as Masterpiece! We are God's masterpiece! A piece of the Master! Made in His image to bear and reflect His light. We don't have to figure it out - He already has! He is the great Potter and we are the clay, already formed and ready for His purpose for us.

In my mind, I always pictured rows of clay pieces waiting to be fired and when we believed in Jesus Christ and became a new creation, God popped us in the kiln, the 'old man' with all the impurity was burned off and we emerged as God had intended from the beginning. Each of us unique in our own way, essential to the body of Christ, no matter what our purpose is. And we must work together so that the body functions as it should.

Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.
